Welcome to my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado buildup!

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

I haven’t updated this site in a very long time. There are actually several posts I wrote and left in the draft stage. I’ll get back to this eventually, but for now it’s easier if I keep a thread updated on Performance Trucks.

For the most current information on my Charlie Murphy build up click on the link below.

    • Thanks man. I could really use the encouragement after the morning I’ve had. The site is still very much a work in progress. I’m still in the planning/acquiring stage.

  4. Pretty neat site you’ve set up here..I’ve subscribed to updates !!

Currently, I’m in the hunting process for a ’99+ RCSB 4×4 truck as well. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing this exact project (plus or minus on some of the details). During my research process I stumbled across your awesome blog and I love it! My focus will be on building the truck to AutoX, so I’m going to focus a bit more in handling but this is an awesome build ! I also plan on the 80e, I haven’t decided if I’ll do that or just live with the Auto-Trac case for a while, I suspect that when I do AutoX the truck the Auto-Trac T-case will be short-lived Also, did you figure out a way to get the 80e cross member on a 1500 truck, or are you going custom on that.. Perhaps I missed that in your pictures posted in the photobucket account ?. I do appreciate all the information about swapping input shafts on the transfer case to the 80e shaft size and all the conversion pics regarding the pin-outs for the 60e-80e conversion.. Awesome !

I just bought McGaughy’s 2″ drop spindles for my ’05 Avalanche, (I also dropped my ’02 ECSB truck with their spindles but sold it) they are at the powder-coater and then going on the truck, they are awesome IMO! When I get my project truck it will ALSO have the McGaughy’s drop spindle kit, love them, they are much better alternative to drop keys.

I also just installed Hellwig Sway-bars on my ’05 Avalanche and I see you have them on your truck, nicely done ! They are a better purchase IMO, than Hotchkis bars because they are adjustable and close to $200 cheaper !

On another note, it appears there are a lot more pictures in your photobucket account that are not covered on this blog.. I am particularly interested in the seat heat switches.. I saw where you had ’em wired up and it appeared to be working, that’s of particular interest to me. Also, did you figure out a way to get the 80e crossmember on a 1500 truck, or are you going custom on that.. Perhaps I missed that in you photobucket account ? I guess like you I like to do things right and I crave the knowledge.. Thanks and please keep the updates coming !

    • I’ve kinda let this site down so to speak. I have actually written 3 entire posts that were never posted. LOL.

At the time, the iOS WordPress app was a hassle to use. I started the site with great intentions of keeping it up to date.

I do have a thread on performance trucks.net that’s updated regularly. Only because its so much easier to do from my iPhone.

So, I’ll get back at it. I’ll update the site with the newer direction my truck is heading. There are lots of pics in my photo bucket account that aren’t posted here yet. I’m in the middle of swapping my 80E and NP149 transfercase right now.

There’s a 6.0L swap in the future as well as a turbo setup instead of a supercharger.

      More to come.
